Team Emoji
Team Emoji is an international team of researchers and practitioners who are enthusiastic about the emotional experiences of emoji.
Members of Team Emoji span internationally, representing the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and Australia.
Some of our projects are focused on answering questions such as:

What are the attentional processes associated with processing emoji faces?

What are the sensory experiences associated with emoji?
We have a wide range of expertise in areas such as psycholinguistics, grounded cognition, visual attention, face processing, and applied emoji practices (e.g., brand communication, emoji dictionary). Our shared expertise is complimentary to their various collaborative research programmes. Our research has been published in peer-reviewed papers in academic journals, as well as being represented widely in the national and international media.

Student Researchers
Much of Team Emoji research is supported by students in the role of Paid Interns or who complete studies as part of final year dissertation projects. In all cases, student contributions to tasks such as development of resources, investigation, participant recruitment and data collection form valid contributions (in line with CRediT author statements) and so are invited to be co-authors on our papers. Here are our student authors as well as current collaborators.
